As Chief Meteorologist I am responsible for the weather department,
department staff and the performance of the department for the station. I
also meet with great enthusiasm the challenges of being considered the
station scientist. As station scientist I am often the go to person for
many scientific ideas including those not weather related.
I am skilled with computer animation and am one of the first in the
country to include personally designed 3D graphical models in forecasts
to improve the understanding and entertainment value of the weather
segments I presented. Working in television has helped me to expand my
public service and mentoring goals. I have initiated and produced award
winning public service efforts which have included mentoring “at risk
youth” and creating enthusiasm and excitement for math and science with
kids. I maintain seals of approval from both the American Meteorological
Society and the National Weather Association.
I strive to be a very effective user of social media platforms both
personally and certainly professionally. I strive to be a social media
expert and to bring that knowledge to my employment.
The broadcast business has allowed me to live in many great cities in my career. That is a great thing for me and I have enjoyed this part of the career very much. Growing up in Colorado I do enjoy all that mountain areas have to offer. Skiing, climbing, biking and much more. I have been lucky enough to live by water in each city I lived in. This
comes in very handy because as a boat owner I need to be near h20! In
Colorado I was very close to Lake Powell which is one of my favorite
lakes in the world. In Corpus Christi, Texas, I lived on Padre Island on the water and that was a great treat. While in Toledo Ohio I had access to the Maumee River and of course Lake Erie. Now
in Albany Georgia I enjoy both the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic and
great local waterways as much as possible and year around!
